Holy Guacamole! Great Guacamole Recipe

Guacamole Recipe:

[makes enough for 5-6 people. You can scale down the recipe to make less]

Ingredients:

4 ripe avocados

2 small tomatoes [or 1 large]

½ cup of onion, chopped very thinly/small [can be white or red onion]

¼ cup cilantro, chopped very small [if you really like the taste of cilantro, use ½ cup.]

2 small Serrano peppers or 1 jalapeno

1 lime

Hot sauce

Cayenne pepper [just a pinch]

Garlic powder or fresh minced garlic

Salt, pepper

To start, slice each avocado in half, twist to pull them apart, and take the pits out.

Scoop the avocado meat into a large bowl. [Discard the outer skins and pits.]

Chop the tomatoes into small chunks. Discard the middle [so you do not get goopy seeds in your guacamole.]

Add the tomatoes to the bowl.

Now put the chopped onion and chopped cilantro into the bowl.

Cut your peppers into small pieces, also discard the seeds. Add the peppers to the bowl.

Add a shake or two of hot sauce, your pinch of cayenne if you like extra spice.

If you are using minced garlic, add a table spoon to the bowl.

Using a fork, mash the avocados until all the large chunks are gone. Meanwhile, mix and mash in the other ingredients. When the mixture is evenly distributed, shake on salt and pepper to taste. If you are using garlic powder instead of fresh garlic, add it at this time as well.

Serve with corn chips or warm tortillas. As an alternate to chips, slice a medium jicama into bite sized pieces and dip with those instead. Enjoy!
